On 9th, December, Translation Ph.D candidate Zou Bin gave a lecture on the dictation and mark of paralinguistic in interpretation. He mainly talked about the current situation, problems and solutions in terms of paralinguistic. Zou, at the beginning of the lecture, pointed out the existing problems in the corpora study of interpretation, especially the lack of the preliminary research on the paralinguistic. Latter, he gave a definition of paralinguistic, based on which he conducted a research on about 10 corpuses worldwide. In the research, he paid special attention on the dictation and mark of paralinguistic. He found out the popular problems, and then gave some suggestions on the dictation and mark of the paralinguistic, including the tool for marking, the procedure of marking and revisions.
At the end of the lecture, the audience had heated discussion centered on the scale of the corpus, difference in the ways of dictation and mark between consecutive interpreting and simultaneous interpreting.
